K'STAR is a safe, short-term youth program for today, providing long-term solutions for tomorrow.

Support Groups
K'STAR provides at no cost to families parenting groups, parent & community trainings, professional trainings, and youth skill trainings. One of the programs we are currently offering is the Why Try Truancy Prevention Program and it will be available to the communities in Uvalde and Kerr County.

Parenting Classes
K'STAR welcomes you to register for our parenting classes. They run once a week for 6 weeks beginning November 4, 2010.

Anyone wanting to participate must register by calling Alisa Herrington at 830-896-5404. You will receive a certificate of completion that can be turned in for CPS, court, or probation needs.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays from 12:00 to 1:30 at K'STAR Youth & Family Services Office (1016 E. Main)or on Thursdays from 5:30 to 7:00 at the Red Cross in Kerrville (333 Earl Garrett St.). Class will fill up quickly so call today to register.
Why Try Program
One of our new programs that we have to offer is the Why Try Program.

This program was created to provide simple, hands-on solutions for drop-out prevention, truancy reduction and more.

You can participate in this group through K'STAR in Uvalde County and it will soon be available in Kerr County.

Groups are being held in Uvalde at 114 E. North St. on Thursdays from 4:00 to 5:00. For more info contact Niki Henderson @ 830-591-2000.
