The K'STAR Volunteers purchased a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan minivan from Crenwelge Motors for the K'STAR Emergency Youth Shelter. This was made possible by the sales of the K'STAR "Sharing Our Best" cookbooks, raffles sales, Easter bake sale and the generosity and support of Tim Crenwelge, Crenwelge Motors. Thank you, Steve Erickson, Crenwelge Sales Representative, for assisting the volunteers in the purchase of the new van.
Through all kinds of weather, the volunteers for several years have put in many hours at the Kerr County Market Days booth. John and Jeanne Pike, Cookbook ChairTeam, have been instrumental in the success of our cookbook sales. Thank you also to Frank and Sue Stewart, Bruce and Pat Hilton, Dawn Denhart, Katy Perrin, Marie Brown, Doc and Lisa Tanner, Mary Westfall, Allen Polzin, Sheryl McGlathery, Toni Robinson, Lorraine Wickstrom and Joe Alleo for working our booth during the last two years.
The children and staff at the shelter now have a second reliable and beautiful minivan for their appointments and activities. In 2006, the K'STAR Volunteers purchased a 2006 Ford Free Star Van also with the sales of the cookbooks, raffle sales and Easter bake sale.
Our youth at the shelter have been through so much in their very young lives and the volunteers are proud to give them vehicles that they can also be proud to ride in.
